We moved house in September and I'm still trying to get everything straight. This is my favourite spot in the house which overlooks the garden. Nothing in this room was bought specifically for the room, I've just mix-matched our existing furniture. Now I'm wanting to make it feel more permanent and thought through.

The chaise lounge was a find by my husband. We purchased this from made.com. Although I adore it, it doesn't look right in this room. I know for sure that I want lots of plants in here and certainly want to banish all the cream! Some inspiration to follow.

This cupboard was a charity shop find and the rocking chair has been passed down to me from my Gran. The blanket through is only temporary but I need some inspiration!

I've been gathering ideas in my scrapbook for our dining room which is in dyer need of 'doing'. In there we have a chimney breast with a large opening for our wood burning stove... my idea is to have the below on the wall above it. The Stag and the Moroccan fairy lights. I absolutely adore them!

They are both from Graham and Green, the Stag is £55.00 and the fairy lights are £32.00.

Back in November 2011 Gok Wan launched his second collection to be sold at Sainsbury's. This comes just 6 weeks after his original one!

Gok Wan said: 'My second collection for Sainsbury’s under the Gok for TU brand still respects the female form, with designs to suit every body shape. 'There are a number of hard working wardrobe staples but this time I’ve added key moments, drama and excitement through material, colour and a new print. It’s a bit more daring than collection one, with glitz and glamour galore. Women across the country can get their hands on what I’m sure will be some of this season’s must-have party pieces.'

This collection comprises 14 styles, totalling 18 garments, when including multiple colours and prints. I think the pieces are beautiful and the fact they are designed to hold in all your wobbly bits is a bonus. All of the range is affordable too ranging from £20 - £50 and have the added bonus of being able to buy them on your weekly grocery shop!

    Love it Gok!

Since having my baby boy back in September I've become a huge fan of rocha. little rocha baby clothing by John Rocha available at Debenhams. It's an adorable collection - modern, stylish and not every item of the boys clothing is blue!

The quality is brilliant and the fit is really good as well.

"Black Swan is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel and Mila Kunis. Its plot revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious New York City company. The production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. One dancer, Nina (Portman), is a perfect fit for the White Swan, while Lily (Kunis) has a personality that matches the Black Swan. When the two compete for the parts, Nina finds a dark side to herself".
As a huge fan of ballet, when I saw the trailer for this movie I knew I had to see it. Unfortunately I went to see it with my mum, blissfully unaware how uncomfortable we were going to be! I really enjoyed it actually and thought Natalie Portman played Nina incredibly well.
Although a little dark for my usual movie taste, it kept me on the edge of my seat and the dancing was also really enjoyable to watch.

Couture, embroidered vintage wallpapers, gift wears and design imagery.

I recently stumbled across a very talented wallpaper designer, Claire Coles. Her work is unique, original and beautiful and I love the vintage twist each piece has. The attention to detail is indescribable.

"Claire’s couture wallpapers transform walls into individual works of art. Each design plays with texture and scale to create a rich opulent feel to any setting.
Fragments of hand-sourced vintage wallpapers are layered and intricately embroidered with silks and leather to create a range of patterns and scenes"

Along with wallpaper her designs can be found on mugs, pictures, greeting cards, pocket mirrors and some stunning bird design brooches. Claire can be found here: www.clairecolesdesign.co.uk

    By Tim Burton 2010

I may be a bit late to the game (I tend to be) but having only just seen this new addition of Alice in Wonderland on Christmas Eve I couldn't not mention it.

I am by no means a movie critic, but I was so impressed with this somewhat surreal movie. I only really wanted to watch it as I'm a big Johnny Depp fan (who isn't?) and I was always intreged by the story of Alice in Wonderland when I was younger, so I thought why not?

I did start off a little confused. What I didn't realise when I started watching was that this was Alice's second visit to Wonderland, following on from the original Alice in Wonderland we have all seen. I kept thinking I didn't recognise certain things but just put it down to my bad memory!

Once that small eliment was cleared up, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The costumes, the make-up, the extraodinary characters and back drops and of course Mr Depp - it's a winning formula.

If you haven't had chance to watch this movie, I would recommend some time is put aside as it truly is worth a watch.

Romeo and Juliet - Celebrating 60 Years

As I've mentioned before Ballet is one of my greatest interests. I love everything about it and really enjoy getting caught up in the moment whenever I go to see it. Just recently we went along to The Palace Theatre in Manchester to watch Rudolf Nureyev's Romeo & Juliet where they were celebrating 60 years of this iconic story.

"From the breathtaking sword-fights of the Capulets and Montagues to the spellbinding romance of Romeo and Juliet's balcony scene, Nureyev's Romeo & Juliet blazes with passion."

One thing I did find with this show, was how heavy and dark the costumes were. It was obviously in keeping with the Shakespearean theme and it really did work well - however they just seemed too heavy for a ballet; where you expect to see floaty dresses, pale colours and tutus it was quite a contrast from the costumes worn in The Nutcracker where they seem wear the stereotypical 'Ballet Wear'.

Overall, a very good performance which I would love to sit through again.
